Welcome to Spring, we are ramping up towards the end of the year and are running workshops on Internet topics in October in Northland, more on this here.

On the web development side of things we are seeing a shift away from brochureware sites, to sites with more complex functions, including shopping carts for E-commerce and other database driven functions.

The business owners we have spoken to lately seem to see the internet as a very important medium to use in their business, getting back to the heyday in the 90's. Consumer confidence in spending money online is definately on the increase (Thank you Trademe) and the uptake of Broadband will move the online search for goods and services up a notch.

Paypal Shopping Cart

This is ideal for those who don't want a fully featured shopping cart, but would like the ability to take credit card orders on their website.
Paypal has offered this ability for a few years now, but only recently have they added New Zealand Dollars as a currency you can process in. What this means is you can have your products labeled in NZD and take orders in NZD too.
The Shopping Cart itself is separate from your website and visitors can add products to it and pay for them at the Paypal checkout.
Funds are received to your Paypal account (You will need a business account if you don't already have one) immediately and can be transferred to your nominated bank account within a few days.
